Five Ways of Looking at a Mirror by Recep Çelebi

I

The mirror is a true friend.

It never lies

unless you want it to.

II

A frosty-haired man

tries to stand.

The mirror is in grief.

Its attempts to apologize

not able to change

anything.

III

How awkward it is.

The mirror looks,

but just looks and looks.

IV

There is another me in the mirror.

His left is my right,

his right is my left.

I don’t understand

who he is.

V

Two mirrors

are parallel.

What I expect to see is

infinity.
